Gardening with the Moon

I have seedlings in my south-facing windows. And they are full. I also have some pots outside with winter-sown seeds. I love growing medicine from seed, caring for the tender babies. For 6 years I have been Growing by Moon using a Solar-Lunar Calendar made by friends in the Driftless region of Wisconsin. It's a combination of the old farmer wisdom- growing roots with the New Moon energy and above-ground growth with the Full Moon energy- and the Biodynamic wisdom of growing in accordance with the Astrological Sign of the Moon. I adhere to this method as much as possible, forgiving myself when I don't quite make it on time. During the summer of 2012 we had a drought and I was amazed to witness how the few rains corresponded with the planting days.
